For clinicians and staff

Healthier CHEO Kids is focused on harnessing the power of physical activity and exercise to improve the physical and mental health of CHEO patients. Our goal is to help CHEO patients be their healthiest!

We focus on using applied clinical research to evaluate the benefits of physical activity and exercise for both treatment and prevention. Check out our Current Research as well as our Presentations and Publications to learn more about our research.

Healthier CHEO Kids also provides individualized physical activity counselling to a limited number of CHEO patients each year. Interns from the Masters of Human Kinetics programme in Physical Activity Intervention and Counselling at the University of Ottawa, are available from April to August each year. The interns provide individualized counselling to CHEO patients referred by their physician or primary healthcare provider. Space is limited, so interns are connected to patients on a first come, first served basis. To refer a patient for Physical Activity Counselling services, complete the referral form and submit it to Dr. Pat Longmuir by email or fax: 613-738-4800.
