Medical Education Research

Medical education research involves the study of learning and assessment in medical training. It can involve examining what trainees learn, how they learn it, and why they learn in certain ways. The research can involve physicians at all levels of training (undergraduate, postgraduate and CME) as well as allied health care professionals. Medical education research includes areas such as assessment, evaluation, medical decision-making and curriculum development, among others. Medical education research utilizes both quantitative and qualitative methodologies (or a combination of both) to answer research questions.
