  • Complementary Alternative Medicine (CAM)
  • Decision Aids
  • Rheumatology
Current Research:
Dr. Toupin April’s research focues on developing valid and reliable tools that contribute to understanding patients' and families' health decisions and behaviour, as well as helping them choose that best treatments. She has been developing and validating a questionnaire assessing the use of complementary and alternative medicine and an adherence questionnaire for use in pediatric rheumatology. She is also currently leading a research team to develop and evaluate a decision support intervention, comprised of an electronic decision aid and a decision coaching intervention, to help teens with arthritis choose among pain management options. Finally, she is leading the OMERACT (Outcome Measures in Rheumatology) network working group on shared decision making and is an Editor of the Cochrane Musculoskeletal Group.
