Dr. Thampi's area of interest are Infection prevention and control, including pediatric ESBL epidemiology, pediatric Clostridium difficile; antimicrobial resistance and stewardship, particularly in the neonatal intensive care unit setting; economic evaluations of infectious diseases using administrative data.

Dr. Nisha Thampi is a Clinical Investigator at the CHEO Research Institute, and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Ottawa. Dr. Thampi’s research interests include surveillance of antimicrobial resistant organisms; hospital-associated infections and their prevention; economic evaluations of infectious diseases; and antimicrobial stewardship in neonates.
