Current Research:
Inuit children have the highest rates of respiratory infection in North America. Dr. Kovesi’s research interests include respiratory health in young Inuit children – particularly the effects of indoor air quality on respiratory health in these children. Other research interests include asthma and cystic fibrosis.
Biography:
Dr. Kovesi is a Clinical Investigator at the CHEO Research Institute and a full professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Ottawa. He is a specialist in the field of pediatric respirology (children’s lung disease), where he is published in the areas of respiratory health in young Inuit children, indoor air quality, and cystic fibrosis. He has been a lead or co-author on several Canadian Pediatric Asthma Consensus Guidelines. He is chair-elect of the Ontario Thoracic Society.
