Biography:
Dr. Matthew Bromwich is an Associate Professor of Otolaryngology at the University of Ottawa and Researcher within the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute. He is currently the Resident Research Director within the Department of Otolaryngology and Sponsor of the National Medical Student hearing healthcare program iHear. He is the founder and chief medical officer of Clearwater Clinical Limited that has successfully translated research devices to commercialization over the last 10 years.
 
He completed his medical training at Queen's University, followed by a surgical residency at the London Health Sciences Centre and Fellowship at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Centre in pediatric airway reconstruction.
 
Dr. Bromwich is the inventor of several medical devices and holds 4 patents on various products in Canada and the U.S with 2 more pending. Other research endeavors include treatments for dizziness, mobile hearing testing, video endoscopy and surgical airway reconstruction and hospital based innovation. 
 
 
Achievements:
Dr. Bromwich has published 23 papers and four book chapters on Otolaryngology and has held more than 2.4 million dollars of grant and research investment funds. Much of the research has been directed toward ShoeBOX which is a multi-award winning method of hearing testing for adults and children that in 2014 won the national "TELUS award for mHealth Innovation". In 2016 he was nominated for the E &Y Entrepreneur of the Year award and he and his team won the 2016 Interface Health Challenge for their work on mobile hearing testing.
