Research Practice Areas:
Current Research:
The two major focuses of Dr. Roth’s research group are: 1) the validation of musculoskeletal ultrasound in children and the use of this technology to assess disease activity in Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA); and 2) the assessment of muscle function in JIA. Dr. Roth is involved in various collaborative trials on JIA as well as pharmaceutical trials assessing new treatments for pediatric rheumatic diseases.
Biography:
Dr. Roth has worked as a pediatric rheumatologist at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario since 2007. He serves as Professor of Pediatrics with the University of Ottawa, Senior Scientist at the CHEO Research Institute, and Head of Pediatric Rheumatology at CHEO. He is a very active member of various committees and professional societies nationally and internationally.
