Current Research:
Ms. Theoret-Douglas’ responsibilities include supervising a research assistant who supports clinicians across the department. In addition, she chairs the Rehabilitation Program & Chronic Pain Service Research Committee  She encourages and supports research within her department, with other departments and community agencies, outside hospitals, and with universities in Canada and abroad.
Biography:
Carol A. Theoret-Douglas is a Speech Language Pathologist with over 30 years’ experience in the profession. She is now the Director of the Rehabilitation Program & Chronic Pain Service at CHEO. She was involved in developing the Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths for Autism Spectrum Profile and the Care Pathway for preschool children who present with suspected motor speech difficulties. In her work at CHEO, Ms. Theoret-Douglas works closely with the department’s research assistant, clinical researcher and research committee to encourage, guide and support clinical research. She is very proud of the growth of research within her department as well as the evolution of a culture of evidence-based clinical research.
