See why children like Sienna, participate in rare disease research at CHEO.

Check out this video summary of a joint CHEO-IBD Research and IBD Foundation event called the Youth Gut Together 2016. It was designed as a highly interactive forum including researcher updates and hands-on activities to give patients and their families information in a format that's easy to understand. In fact, a patient had this to say, “Thanks for organizing the Gut Together.  We all learned LOADS.  It was particularly great to have my mom with us.  I think that understanding the types of research being done, helped her to have a broader understanding of the complexity of the disease!  It is also comforting to know there is a passionate group of dedicated researchers working toward a cure!”
In CHEO's oncology clinic, most patients participate in some sort of clinical trial explains Dr. Donna Johnston in this video. Her patient, Jacques, has this to say about it, "If you are wondering about whether or not to participate in research, I say go for it! It takes little of your time, and you will feel proud knowing that you did something good for another kid."
