Another Successful Summer Student Research Day!
The next generation of Clinical and Basic Science researchers were on stage on Friday, August 17 at the CHEO Research Institute’s Summer Student Research Day. More than 30 young researchers presented the work they accomplished during their summer placements. The CHEO Research Institute is pleased to announce the winners of this year’s Serge Taillon Summer Studentship Prize: Benjamin McLeod for Basic Science research for Placental Tissue Analysis for Biomarkers Capable of Differentiating Between Preeclampsia Subtypes, supervised by Dr. David Grynspan; and Emma Walker for Vaccine Uptake and Timeliness in Special Populations: A Systematic Review, supervised by Dr. Deshayne Fell.
With the high calibre of presentations, judges had some difficult decisions to make. Thank you to Dr. Denise Harrison, Dr. Anab Lehr and Dr. Richard Webster for being our judges for Clinical Research presentations and to Dr. David Dyment and Dr. Shawn Beug for judging the Basic Science Research presentations.
Thank you to Ms. Dianne Parker-Taillon for her continued support of the CHEO Research Institute’s Summer Student Research Day, to ESDC and the CHEO Foundation for their support for the Summer Student Research Program and to the Investigators and Scientists who supported the students in their research over the summer.
