The Infectious Disease and Vaccine Research Centre (IDVRC)
based at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario
– Research Institute (CHEO-RI) is focused on studying
the pathogenesis and treatment of chronic viral infections
including HIV, Hepatitis C Virus (HCV), and bacterial sepsis.
Research at IDVRC links basic investigations into the molecular
mechanisms regulating the immune response against these important
human pathogens with translational research, diagnostics,
and clinical trials testing novel therapeutics and vaccines.
